New Artwork – September 2010

Whilst being on holiday I have been busily painting away and have been very pleased with the results.

The gallery below shows the latest works I have created and following is a short description of each piece.

All of the works will be available to buy as prints, either on canvas or as paper prints, have a look at the Artwork Gallery for details.

Clare College Panorama This is the view from the Trinity Hall bridge looking up the river Cam towards Clare College and King’s. I really like all the detail that is in it, particularly the way the chapel shows over the top. I think it’s one of the classic Cambridge views. I was particularly pleased with the way that the many colours in the brick walls turned out.

King’s College Chapel This view of the chapel at King’s is another classic and very well know view. I think the person taking photographs adds some scale to the picture, as well as reminding me about photography too! I plan to also paint a side view of the King’s College Chapel at some point, as well as some details.

Porters Lodge at Selwyn College I love the detail in the brickwork in this work, as well as the college crest above the door. The bikes in the rack also add another nice interest.

West Door at Ely Cathedral This is the first of several detail works of Ely Cathedral. I really like all the detail in the stonework and think that the floor adds a nice focus to the picture.

Ely Cathedral This is another Ely work, I really like the post detail in the front and the way the plants on the wall lead the eye to the Cathedral tower.
